We care so you can
Who we are
We are a family run and family owned business. We put our heart and soul into what we do. We believe excellence is not an act but a habit, and we try and instil that in everyone we work with. We manage medical centres with our patients wants and needs in mind, creating an environment that we would feel comfortable in as patients. We work with doctors, nurses and administration staff who are passionate and caring. We understand the challenges in healthcare and navigate through them to operate clinically proficient and financially sustainable medical practices.
Our Team
Dr Gaurav Singh, Director
MBBS, FRACGP
Gaurav is the director of Cordium and, being a General Practitioner himself, he uses his extensive clinical and business knowledge to ensure that we manage clinically excellent and financially successful medical practices.
Gaurav moved from Brisbane to Townsville to study at James Cook University before moving to Sydney to complete his qualifications. He then went on to locum throughout Australia, working in a variety of settings from accident and emergency departments and hospitals to general practices. This experience has proved invaluable in understanding the diversity within general practices and business models of delivering primary care. These observations have allowed Gaurav to optimise systems and processes for the best results.
Gaurav, along with his university mate Dr Jerome Muir Wilson, ventured out to buy a pub in Launceston, Tasmania, and converted that to a medical centre to realize their dream of running a business.
Gaurav had only just started this venture in Tasmania with Jerome when he partnered with The Infinity Group to start the medical centre side of the business in Queensland, which is now known as Cordium.
Gaurav is passionate about clinical care and providing quality, sustainable, timely, and comprehensive care to patients. As the Clinical Director of the group, Gaurav is actively involved in clinical decisions and the functioning of every practice. He is passionate about doing things in a new way and believes continuous improvement to be the key to sustainability.
In his personal life, Gaurav is an adventurous traveller, sports enthusiast, and keen soccer player — though these days, most of his energy is happily spent being a dad to four young kids under five, including two boys and a set of spirited twin girls. Life is full, noisy, and wonderful, and family remains at the heart of everything he does.
“The first two years were the hardest, with four green fields along with two established practices that we were trying to manage, and probably the most expensive MBA degree one could do.”

Ms Shruti Deshwal, Chief Strategy Officer
Master of Engineering (Electrical), Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
Shruti joined Cordium in March 2016 to help automate accounting processes — and has since become a central force behind how the business runs today. With a background as an Electrical Engineer at Siemens and a Master of Engineering from the University of Melbourne, she brings both systems thinking and people focus to her role.
Now overseeing operations and finance across the organisation, Shruti plays a key role in shaping strategy, improving performance, and ensuring that patient care remains at the heart of every decision — whether it’s through smarter processes, stronger teams, or long-term planning. Her direct approach, eye for detail, and relentless pursuit of “a better way” have made her a trusted problem-solver and leader within the business.
Outside of work, life is just as dynamic. Shruti is a proud mum of four young children under five — including a set of twin girls — and she draws daily inspiration (and resilience) from the beautiful chaos of family life. It’s this same sense of grounded perspective and compassion that she brings into her work: a belief that care, connection, and clarity should guide every part of the healthcare experience.
Once someone who avoided medical centres entirely (true story), Shruti now plays a key role in keeping them running
