We care so you can
Who we are
We are a family run and family owned business, we put our heart and soul into what we do. We believe excellence is not an act but a habit; and we try and instil that in everyone we work with. We manage medical centres with our patients wants and needs in mind, creating an environment that we would feel comfortable in as patients. We work with doctors, nurses and administration staff who are passionate and caring. We understand the challenges in healthcare and navigate through them to operate clinically proficient and financially sustainable medical practices.
Our Team
Dr Gaurav Singh, Director
MBBS, RACGP
Gaurav is the director of Cordium and, being a general practitioner himself, he uses his extensive clinical and business knowledge to ensure that we manage clinically excellent and financially successful medical practices.
Gaurav moved from Brisbane to Townsville, to study at James Cook University, before moving to Sydney to complete his General Practice. He then went on to locum throughout Australia, working in a variety of settings from Accident and Emergency departments, general practices and hospitals. This experience has proved invaluable in understanding the diversity within general practices and business models of delivering primary care. These observations have allowed him to optimise systems and processes for the best results.
Gaurav, along with his university mate, Dr Jerome Muir Wilson, ventured out to buy a pub In Launceston, Tasmania and converted that to a medical centre to realize their dream of running a business.
While Gaurav had only started this venture in Tasmania with Jerome he, at the same time, partnered with The Infinity Group to start the medical centre side of the business in Queensland, which is now known as Cordium.
Gaurav is passionate about clinical care and providing quality; sustainable, timely, and comprehensive care to patients. He is the clinical director of the group and is actively involved in clinical decisions and functioning of every practice. He is passionate about doing things in a new way and believes continuous improvement to be the key to sustainability.
In his personal life, Gaurav is an adventurous traveller, loves watching sports, enjoys playing soccer and spending time with family and friends.
“The first two years were the hardest, with four greenfields along with two established practices that we were trying to manage, and probably the most expensive MBA degree one could do”

Ms Shruti Deshwal, Chief Strategy Officer
Master of Engineering (Electrical), Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
Shruti started working with Cordium in March 2016 to assist with automating some of the accounting procedures and has found ways to keep busy ever since.
In her previous life, she worked as an Electrical Engineer with Siemens for a number of years, before coming to Australia on holiday, where she fell in love with Melbourne and signed up for a Master of Engineering at the University of Melbourne.
Known for being a straight shooter, her direct manner and honest approach, combined with organisational skills and attention to detail, added another dimension to the services we were able to provide to both medical centres and doctors.
Her role ensures that she is across all facets of the business, whether it is finance; business development, human resources, accreditation or operations. She truly enjoys spending some days as a receptionist within our medical centres and loves the patient interaction. Ever the engineer, numbers come easy to her and with her analytical brain she is passionate about doing things the smarter way.
She gives the worn-out laptop keys a break by travelling the world. Rome at Christmas time, sleeping under the swag at Uluru and the Inca trail are few of her best travel experiences. She hopes to add a few more adventures over the coming years, and yes, she takes her laptop with her.
It is hard to believe now, but she was once scared of doctors and medical centres.
“The reason I love working at Cordium is the people that I work with”

Cat’s role stretches past her title as she is always willing to take on a new challenge, making her the “go-to person”. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will know where to find it.
Cat completed her B.Comm in Tourism Management in South Africa before moving to Australia with her husband in 2013. Prior to starting at Cordium she worked within the hospitality industry as a restaurant and event manager at various Hatted restaurants.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time exploring the outdoors with her husband and 2 dogs, gardening and hiking. She considers herself to be a foodie and loves trying new restaurants. Despite all these good things in her life, nothing beats an afternoon spent at Bunnings.
“I like to think of myself as equally left and right brain orientated, I am both logical, analytical and creative.”

Ms Vicki Tse, Accounts Officer
Bachelor of Commerce
Vicki grew up in South Brisbane and studied at the University of Queensland, completing her Bachelor of Commerce degree. She subsequently, moved to Hong Kong for a few years before moving back home and joining the Cordium team.
She is diligent, dependable and a high-level performer in her role as an accounts officer. Her day to day tasks involve payroll, bookkeeping and financial reporting.
While the rest of mere mortals survive on coffee, Vicki is fuelled by a concoction of boiling water and herbal tea in her “Hello Kitty” mug. She always has a smile on her face and will often take a problem away and have a think before proposing a well thought out solution.
She enjoys working closely with the accounts team and being in a professional and kind work environment. When not at work she is cooking, travelling to different countries or most likely playing Mahjong.
